Overview
Navigating Mississippi's voting process proves needlessly cumbersome, intricate, and inaccessible, hindered by strict felony disenfranchisement laws, voter ID requirements, convoluted registration processes, and inflexible absentee voting protocols.
Our campaign was crafted to equip Hinds County voters with the resources and information necessary to feel empowered and assured as they exercise their right to vote on Election Day. To accomplish this, we broke down the site into three distinct categories: Your Vote, Your Voice, and Your Choice.
Your Vote
Voting, especially in state and local elections, is a powerful tool for affecting change. Decisions made by your aldermen, school board representatives, and state legislators have a direct impact on communities—for better or for worse.
The Your Vote section of the site is our resource hub; here, users can find our voting plan guide, as well as essential information about election procedures, important deadlines, and voting rights.
Your Choice
Finding information about candidates is becoming increasingly difficult for voters, especially in Mississippi. But having the information you need to make the right choice when you cast a ballot is more crucial than ever.
We sent out a survey to candidates in upcoming Hinds County races to gather useful voter information, directly from the source. We asked each hopeful elector to share their previous experience, values, and legislative priorities for the people they hope to represent.
Your Voice
Voting is just one of the tools in our civic toolbox to hold our elected officials accountable. There are many other tactics, strategies, and tools you can use to organize and advocate for your community.
This section of the page focused on empowering our audience to engage with their communities, acting as a digital civic toolbox with resources to make your voice heard beyond the ballot box.
